Terms of Service

Last updated: July 11, 2026

1. The service

Filmwright is an AI-assisted film and video production studio, operated by Stormlight Ventures LLC ("we," "us"). You provide a brief, a script, or your own footage, and the service helps you write, cast, voice, storyboard, film, and edit a finished video using a combination of our own tooling and third-party AI models.

2. Accounts

You need an account to use Filmwright. You agree to provide accurate information and to keep your password safe — you're responsible for activity that happens under your account. You must be at least 13 years old to create an account, and if you're under 18 you need a parent or guardian's permission to use paid features.

3. Billing

Filmwright runs on credits. Monthly plans (Starter, Creator, Studio) are subscriptions billed through Stripe that auto-renew every month until you cancel. Credit packs are one-time purchases, also processed through Stripe. We can change prices with notice; changes apply to future billing cycles, not ones you've already paid for.

  • Plan credits refresh each billing cycle and expire when your subscription ends.
  • Purchased pack credits persist for as long as your account stays active — they don't expire on a monthly cycle.
  • Credits you've already spent are non-refundable.
  • If you cancel a subscription, you keep access through the end of the period you already paid for — we don't prorate or refund unused time.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to use Filmwright to:

  • Generate illegal content.
  • Impersonate a real person, or create a deepfake of a real person, without their consent.
  • Infringe someone else's intellectual property.
  • Attempt to break, overload, reverse-engineer, or circumvent the service.

We can suspend or terminate accounts that violate this section.

5. AI-generated content

Video, image, voice, and other outputs are generated using third-party AI models, including models from OpenAI, Google, and models hosted on Replicate. You own the outputs you generate to the extent permitted by law and by the underlying model providers' terms — but because these are generative models, another user could receive a similar or identical output from a similar prompt. You're responsible for how you use and distribute anything you generate.

6. Your content, and our license to use it

You keep ownership of what you upload (scripts, images, footage, audio) and what you generate. To run the service, you grant us a limited license to host, store, and process that content — for example, sending your prompts and uploads to the AI providers above so they can generate your film.

7. Intellectual property complaints

If you believe content on Filmwright infringes your intellectual property, email devmpk@gmail.com with a description of the work, the infringing material, and your contact information, and we'll investigate.

8. Termination

You can stop using Filmwright and cancel your subscription at any time from your billing settings. We can suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms. Either of us can end this agreement at any time; sections that by their nature should survive (billing you already owe, IP, liability limits) still apply after termination.

9. Disclaimers

Filmwright is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind. We don't guarantee that AI-generated outputs will be accurate, error-free, or fit for any particular purpose.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim arising from these terms or your use of Filmwright is capped at the amount you paid us in fees over the 12 months before the claim.

11. Governing law

These terms are a contract between you and Stormlight Ventures LLC, a Delaware limited liability company, and are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
